According to the China Mold Industry Association, in 2018, China's mold exports amounted to US$6,085 million, an increase of 10.8% over the previous year, accounting for a quarter of the world's total mold exports, with exports in about 200 countries and regions, with the top five export markets being the United States, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan and Mexico. Mold imports amounted to US$2.14 billion, up 4.3% YOY, accounting for one-eighth of global mold imports, with Japan, South Korea, Germany, Taiwan and the United States in the top five markets.

Mold is known as the "mother of industry". According to the China Mold Industry Association, China's 255.5 billion RMB consumption of molds in 2018 can support the country's 28 trillion RMB of manufactured goods, is an important part of "Made in China", playing the role of "behind-the-scenes hero" from the "great power heavy" to the improvement of people's lives
